This policy is about resource acquisition in various formats, whether it be for developing a collection of material within the library or providing access to resources beyond the library.
The primary purpose of the library resources are to support the curricular needs of our students and the research needs of our faculty.
The library will provide adequate resources to support new and existing academic programs at Drake.
The library will strive to provide our users with the material they need in a timely fashion through ILL, Document Delivery, and our partner libraries.
The library will accept and preserve items that are unique to Drake.
The library will look to maintain and develop beneficial relationships with other libraries as a means for expanding the scope of resources available to our users.
The library will provide new and updated resources, with particular emphasis on those disciplines for which currency is most important.
Manage collections in cooperation with each academic department or college through the Library Liaison Program.
Incorporate continual data assessment into the decision-making process
Provide university-level (do we need to define?) scholarly resources that reflect diverse viewpoints and support Drake academic programs and faculty research interests.
